About Vertex Industries

The Vertex Industries brand was founded in 1986 in Farmingville, New York. In 2021, our company relocated to St. Augustine, Florida. The founder, Edward Downey, had a strong military upbringing. This played a role in the naming of his products. His mother, Anne Timko, along with her seven brothers served in the U.S. military during World War II. Edward went on to have seven children of his own, three of which currently serve in the U.S. military.

He formulated our first product, a concentrated all purpose cleaner, which is known as General Clean-Up. This product's application is multi-use on both hard surfaces and textiles. Due to the high concentration of this product, its intended use is a 1:3 ratio for degreaser, 1:31 ratio for all purpose cleaner, and 1:63 for window cleaner. Our hard surface product, Colonel Brassy, will remove tarnish, rust, and oxidation from brass, copper, stainless steel, chrome, and fiberglass. For best results, follow up with our polishing product, Major Shine. This product shines and protects aluminum, fiberglass, and plastics.
